Susanna Lau
Someone that works in the media industry who inspires me is Susanna Lau, she is a fashion journalist who got her start as a fashion blogger via her blog, Style Bubble, in 2006. By 2010 her blog was attracting tens of thousands of daily visitors with 300,000 users per month resulting in her leaving her job as commissioning editor of DazedDigital.com to focus on blogging full time. Susanna was named 'the self made queen of independent UK fashion blogging' by The Independent in 2012. Through her blog, Style Bubble, Susanna has became an occasional consultant and freelance worker, working with brands such as Gap, Dr Martens, Armani and the department store Selfridges. Lau was also involved in the launch of google's Boutiques.com site where alongside other celebrities, she was invited to set up her own online boutique on the site. In 2012, Susanna collaborated on a book with journalist William Oliver called 'Style Feed: The World's Top Fashion Blogs' where they curated top fashion blog's. Susanna Lau currently works as a freelance journalist and posts regularly on her instagram while also covering international fashion weeks including New York Fahion Week, London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week.
Alexa Chung
Someone who works in the media industry as a fashion journalist who inspires me is Alexa Chung, she is a British writer, television presenter, model and fashion designer. Alexa got her start as a model after being scouted whilst she was in the comedy tent at Reading festival at the age of 16. Alexa then got into fashion journalism in 2007 when she began writing a monthly column for the British women's magazine 'Company' from October 2007 to June 2008. She then went on to write a weekly newspaper column for Britains 'The Independent' from November 2008 till June 2009 titled 'Girl About Town' which was later changed to 'New York Doll'. Alexa was soon after made a contributing editor of British Vogue, where she interviewed designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Christopher Kane for the publication and even wrote a cover story about Kate Upton. Alexa Chung released her first book 'It' on 5 September 2013, this book was about Chung's personal experience's in the fashion industry and her work as a model, television presenter, fashion designer and Fashion journalist.
