Tell me about yourself?

I am currently studying Creative Media at Sunderland College.

Previous to this, I studied Photography at GCSE in secondary school which led me to studying creative media at Sunderland college to further pursue my interest in the media industry.

Whilst studying Creative Media at Sunderland College I found my passion for tv production and came to the decision that this is the field of the Media Industry I would most like to work in. 

This is why I applied for this role as I am very interested in working for a public service network like yourself that operates the UK's biggest free streaming service.

At my current job I am known for my organizational skills and being a team worker in order to complete tasks.

I am very passionate about creating positive change so working with a company who's sole purpose is representing unheard voices and creating change through entertainment is something I am very interested in.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

I would say that my biggest strength is my leadership skills along with my ability to work in a team and communicate well with the people who are working around me. 

I have been able to develop these skills in my previous job role as I was often placed in stressful situations with other people which we overcame by communicating and myself sometimes taking initiative and tackling a leadership role.

On the other hand, I would say that my weakness is public speaking as I don't feel very confident being placed in situations where i'm talking to a crowd with little to no notice.

However, given a good amount of notice and the right preparation time, despite my fears I am confident in the fact I would be able to deliver a good speech.

 Why do you want to work here?

I am very interested in working at Channel 4 because from research I am confident that this is a place to work where I will be given the opportunity to improve on my current skill set and even learn new skills that I can put to use in this job role. 

One of my personal goals is to have a hand in creating necessary change and sparking conversation through the media industry, I see that this company aligns with my beliefs so I am very keen to come to work everyday with the feeling that through some small way I am helping to create necessary change through working here.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

In five years time I hope to have advanced to a higher role within your company using the skills I have developed over my five years here. 

Using the resources i will be provided with in this job role i believe that I will be able to pursue all my future career goals for the coming 5 years whilst staying with the company.

Over these next five years I see myself taking part in exciting new projects whilst also taking on more managerial and leadership roles within the company.

Describe a time where you were required to work in a team.

When studying Creative Media at Sunderland college I was tasked with a project in my first year of creating a Barbering tutorial video for Mark Sowerby who is a barbering lecturer within the college.

I was told that this video would be used in his lectures.

I was grouped together with two other people to create this project therefore we had to work as a team to ensure that we met his deadline and produced a tutorial video to his standard.

We worked together and tasked each other with different things to do to ensure we had everything we needed to individually edit together a video for him.

Through good communication skills we each knew what task we had going into this to make sure we had everything we needed.

Through good organizational skills and great communication from all of us in the team we each created a Barbering tutorial video to a high standard that we were proud of.
