 Employment Search in the Fashion Journalism industry I have conducted research into the current job market and searched for jobs that are available in the fashion journalism industry. On LinkedIn I have found the job of a Fashion Editor for 'VICE MEDIA GROUP' in London, this would include working for the company Refinery29 UK. This Job role will involve working closely with the head of content to produce cutting edge fashion content, working with the content strategy, work closely with partnering brands, represent the company at panels and events and many more fashion and media related things. Employment within the Media Industry Research into the Fashion Journalism industry The media area that i am most interested in working in is Journalism, more specifically Fashion Journalism. Fashion Journalism is a component of fashion media with a focus on writing and photojournalism. Fashion Journalists focus mostly on trends and events while maintaining relationships with designers or stylists and having a good knowledge of fashion history, whilst also staying up to date on current industry trends. Academic Search

Academic Search Within The Media Industry A course that really appeals to me is Fashion Journalism which i can take as a three year long full time course resulting in an undergraduate degree at Sunderland University . This could help me prepare for a career as a fashion journalist or stylist, which is great because these are my biggest career aspirations. In this course i will learn editorial styling, catwalk reporting, trend forecasting, studio photoshoots, street style photography, podcasting, social media stories, beauty and video journalism and the history of the likes of Chanel and Mcqueen. I will develop skills on this course by getting hands on experience as part of the Fashion North editorial team and go on placements to places which have previously included Sunday Times Style Magazine, Harpers Bazaar, Grazia, Elle, ASOS and Glamour.  B1: Progression Research Susanna Lau Someone that works in the media industry who inspires me is Susanna Lau , she is a fashion journalist who got her start as a fashion blogger via her blog, Style Bubble, in 2006. By 2010 her blog was attracting tens of thousands of daily visitors with 300,000 users per month resulting in her leaving her job as commissioning editor of DazedDigital.com to focus on blogging full time. Susanna was named 'the self made queen of independent UK fashion blogging' by The Independent in 2012. Through her blog, Style Bubble, Susanna has became an occasional consultant and freelance worker, working with brands such as Gap, Dr Martens, Armani and the department store Selfridges. Lau was also involved in the launch of google's Boutiques.com site where alongside other celebrities, she was invited to set up her own online boutique on the site.
